An advisory committee will be formed next week to draft a proposal for the award of a concession contract for the Ruse airport, on the Danube, said Bulgarian transport minister Petar Mutafchiev.
The government is expected flag off the procedure in early August, said the official, estimating that it would be completed in about 12 to 14 months.
The Ruse airport, designed and operated as a military facility until 1996, has one runway measuring 2,500 m by 50 m.

The section of the port that is most likely to be concessioned off are the passenger terminals. The experts of the transport ministry have not yet determined if the 2 cargo terminals of the port should be subject to one or separate concession procedures.
