Bulgarian wines won five awards at the world's most prestigious wine contest - International Wine Challenge 2005 in London.
Domaine Boyar's Merlot "Solitaire" - Elenova swept the silver medal, whereas honorable diplomas were given to the company's Merlot and Cabernet Blueridge, Chardonnay 2004 Blueridge, Merlot 2003 Blueridge, Merlot and Mavrud 2002.
By winning these international recognitions Domaine Boyar became the first Bulgarian company over the last four years to win a silver medal at the prestigious contest.
It is a great success for the Bulgarian wines as these awards stand for the potential our wines have. The contest awards also prove the Domaine Boyar's achievements over the last year, the company's CEO Margarit Todorov said.
Domaine Boyar's stand at the International Wine Challenge 2005 was visited by the Masters of Wine, journalists and clients from different countries.
Bulgaria's leading wine producer has also won one gold and two silver medals at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles contest in Belgium's capital.
More than 9,000 wines, 30 of them Bulgarian, were presented at the International London Fair of Wine and Spirits Fair. The fair also participated by professional wine makers, critics and traders.
